Besson Prestige BE2050-2-0 Tenor Horn in Silver

After months of speculation and rumour amongst the brass band fraternity the new Besson Prestige Tenor Horn finally broke cover at the Frankfurt International Music Show in late March.
Designed and built in Germany (under the new ownership of Buffet Crampon), the instrument has been produced and designed specifically for British brass bands - with Leslie Howie, the renowned player, formerly principal horn with Black Dyke, being heavily involved in design and testing.

The new instrument features a number of enhanced features including a main tuning slide trigger, improved leadpipe, and the "usual" gold trimmings associated with the top of the range Prestige brand.

Since the demise of Besson's Watford factory and the subsequent re-location of production to Germany (under the new ownership of renowned clarinet makers Buffet Crampon), the "new" instruments that have emerged have been a revelation.

The instruments retain the distinctive "Besson sound" but feature strongly improved engineering and finish quality. The results have been instruments that players have simply been "raving" about. The new Prestige horn is no exception and has been prepared and tested to the highest standards.

The Prestige BE2050 has been designed to meet the demands of the modern day player, with all the qualities of the BE950 and much more.
The addition of a main slide trigger is a pioneering development which allows the player to be in complete control of intonation. In addition, the Prestige tenor horn has been enhanced with a redesigned valve block, wider dimensions and a new leadpipe which provides a rich opulent tonal superiority.
