Next week the majority of our crew will travel to London to take part in one of the many highlights of our year which sees 3000 young musicians perform in the most iconic concert hall in the country, The Royal Albert Hall for the Music for Youth Schools Prom. Ev-entz will be working with our friends at MFY to produce, stage manage and crew this massive 3 day event.
We brought you many photos and videos after last year's event and hopefully we'll be able to do the same this year. We are looking forward to watching some amazing performances again this year and good luck to our friends at Gwent Music Support Service who will also be performing.
For more details of this year's event, photos and videos from last year and ticket information for the 3 day event which is held on Monday 7th November - Wednesday 9th November please visit www.mfy.org.uk/coreseason/schoolsprom

The Summer Season is always a busy time, and as a business we always enjoy being part of special occasions and performances. We are never left disappointed by a Proms occasion.
Last week we were pleased to provide percussion to the fantastic Cory Band who were joined by the Morriston Orpheus Choir with guest soloist David Childs, Euphonium. Once again they amazed the audience at St David’s Hall as part of the Welsh Proms series. Cory Band and David are no strangers to the Welsh Proms and have been featured several times with some of the countries leading orchestras, but it is well deserved and great to see them being the featured artists and having their own Prom this year. They attracted a large audience and Cory provided something fresh to the Proms and hopefully they will become regulars to this successful series. David performs with the band throughout the year as Principal Euphonium and is always featured as a soloist during their concerts, but on this occasion he was featured as a guest soloist and provided some breathtaking playing being accompanied by the band that he knows so well. Cory’s other guests for the night were in fine voice and it was great to see Morriston Orpheus sharing the stage with Cory and they also delighted the crowd with their contribution.

After Wednesday night’s performance we provided support and equipment on Thursday for a rehearsal by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the BBC Concert Orchestra in readiness for the massive performance of Symphony No. 1 in D minor, ‘The Gothic’ which took place last night, Sunday 17th July at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Simon Brittlebank who we are pleased to welcome back to our team, worked for Ev-entz at the Royal Albert Hall yesterday, and it was great for us provide our service to such an amazing event. For those of you unfamiliar with this work it earned an entry in the Gunniess Book of World Records under ‘ Longest Symphony’ and is features 2 orchestras and a raft of choirs. I think Simon counted no fewer than 18 performers in the Percussion Section alone! The BBC National Orchestra of Wales and BBC Concert Orchestra were joined on stage by the following artists:
Susan Gritton soprano
Christine Rice mezzo-soprano
Peter Auty tenor
Alastair Miles bass
David Goode organ
CBSO Youth Chorus
Eltham College Boys’ Choir
Southend Boys’ and Girls’ Choirs
Bach Choir
BBC National Chorus of Wales
Brighton Festival Chorus
Côr Caerdydd
Huddersfield Choral Society
London Symphony Chorus
Martyn Brabbins conductor
We are surprised that the roof on the Albert Hall is still in place but Simon assures me that the venue is still is one piece.
This performance concluded an amazing week for Ev-entz at the Proms and it great to see that the concerts in Wales and London were supported so well and that the Proms series continues to hold pride of place with artists and audiences alike. Ev-entz look forward to providing services to the continued success of the Welsh Proms and BBC Proms in the future.
